Hasbro Transformers Generation: Rattrap

Good day boys and gals, today I'm gonna do a review on Transformers Generation Rattrap. Rattrap is a maximal and one of the original crew members on their ship when it crash landed on earth. He is very sarcastic, rude, and funny at the same time. He is basically a maximal scout and his beast mode as a rat is suitable for this job. His most popular quote would be "we're all gonna die..." lol.

Here are some pictures I've took from the net. Here is a group picture of the Maximals. ( Rattrap with the coolest pose of course )

Here he is in robot mode.

Here is Rattrap in his box.

Back of the packaging shows him in robot and alternate mode, stats and some bio.

He comes with his blaster, instruction manual and a comic book. I think the comic book is a neat inclusion, though IDW story seems a bit dark and gloomy.

As a whole, I think this figure is very animation accurate. Head, torso and limbs ration is excellent, and from the front, he looks sleek and no overhanging parts. Colour is good and no issues with paint jobs. Too bad he does not have light-piping.

From the side, you can see all the over-hanging parts and looks a bit bulky from this view.

Back view is not too bad, almost similar with his beast wars animation, just that in the animation, all his rat feet are on his back, while in this figure, his hind leg is hidden below his foot.

His head scalp is not 100% accurate, but still looks ok. Some notable issue is that his rat ears can get in the way when you want to get a better shot of his face. Wish that the rat ears are rubber or it can be better hidden.

His head can rotate around 360 degrees.

Arms abduction is about 0-80 degrees.

He has a full 360 rotation for both his shoulders.

Elbow rotation is about 0-60 degrees. His wrists and fingers are both fixed and no rotation.

Internal rotation of elbow.

As a demolition expert , he keeps his explosives in his hand and I really like this gimmick. Its a transparent explosive and it can be removed from his hands.

He can perform a perfect split.

Hip flexion.

Knee flexion

Thigh internal rotation.

Squatting position.

Kneeling position.

Rattrap's blaster is transparent for this figure, but the detailing is still good.

Take that Predecon out of the sky!

" I don't think so...... "

Here is Rattrap in his alternate mode. The rat mode looks ok, but there are still some robot parts overhanging. Panel parts can be clearly seen, but it is still acceptable.

Front view.

Side view. His tail can be manipulated up or down. It is made from rubber and inner flexible wire.

The detailing on his rat mode looks ok with the fur like design.

 Back view.

The interesting part is that he can stand up in his rat mode like the animation and very stable. We can see all his robot parts under his belly. You can also store his blaster under his belly.

There is also some articulation on his rat jaw.

" I tell you Rhinox its not me! It was chopper face!"

Maximals! Open fire!

Two buddies posing for the camera.

Here is a short video of Rattrap I got from youtube. Enjoy!
