Hasbro Transformers Generation Legend class: Cosmos and Payload

       Welcome to my blog, guys and gals. For my next review I'm gonna write about Cosmos and Payload. Well, honestly, Cosmos is not one of my favorite Transformers in the G1 series because he has a funny looking robot mode. I mean, he looks like he needs to loose some weight, and he has short hands and legs, not the best looking Autobot out there. His main function is to remain in orbit and look for any Decepticon activities, but his duty makes him a very lonely Autobot out in space. As for Payload, I'm not really familiar with him. Their price is quite cheap and you can get them around 10$ or about RM40.

Here are some pictures I took from the net. As you can see, he looks short and overweight lol. His G1 toy is more accurate than this new toy by Hasbro, but I think the newer version looks much much better. 

Cosmos is one of the minibots, and you can see his size compare to Blaster.

Here he is in his robot mode. This newer version of cosmos looks better, good head, body and limb ratio, but all this improvements makes him less G1 accurate.

Looks cool overall , his new look gives him a more 'warrior like' makeover.

Back view looks ok as well, just some hollow parts on his heels.

I think he looks more natural in this mode. Just my personal preference. Basically he is the slimmer mode of G1 Cosmos

He is quite posable, shoulder abduction is about 0-60 degrees.

Elbow joint rotation, and he does have limited rotation on his head from side to side, not 360 degrees. Unlike Swerve, he does have hip rotations as it is part of his transformation.

Cosmos now can do a perfect split after he lost some weight :)

He is quite stable considering the fact that his alternate mode is a flying saucer, not bad at all for this figure.

Here's a picture I got from the internet. Cosmos's alternate mode is a UFO, patrolling earth.

Here, we have the new version of Cosmos. He does indeed lost some weight and his alternate mode looks slimmer and less bulky unlike his G1 self.

Top view. His weapons are in the front of his alternate mode. I think the G1 version has 3 boosters each on both sides but no weapons in front.

Here we can see Cosmos with Payload.

Payload is a micromaster and his alternate mode is a space shuttle, which is a fitting partner for Cosmos since Cosmos is a UFO. He has the basic design for a mini space shuttle.

Transformation is very simple, has 1 step transformation basically.

He can only rotate his shoulders all around and he has no other rotations.

Payload's 3rd form is a blaster for Cosmos, however, you cannot fit him on Cosmos in UFO mode.

For a small figure, Cosmos can do some poses that amazes me. Only problem sometimes is that his shoulder joint is not so strong and sometimes having some trouble to stay in a specific pose due to the weight of Payload.

The size is just right for a minibot.

All in all, I think he is a fun figure to play with, not too pricey, decent articulation and paint job. But if I have to choose between him and Swerve, I think I'll go for Swerve, just my personal preference. He now all knew how G1 Cosmos would look like if he lost some weight, lol.

Hasbro Transformers generation Legend class: Swerve and Flanker

        Hello and good day. Today I'm writing a review on a product by Hasbro, Swerve and Flanker! Well they do come in pair, so I'll just review both of them. Honestly I'm not so familiar with both these characters, but obviously Flanker is a micromaster for his size. As for Swerve, he is basically a bubbly Autobot who talks a lot, has high intelligence, good in analyzing materials but bad in fights. ( From what I found out on the net ) Well the reason I got him is that I find him very cute haha. I mean just looks at him, with his smiley face and  mini size, and he is cheap too, selling for about 10$ or about RM 40-50.

Swerve and Flanker's Packaging. This is the back part. Contains some nice bio regarding both of them.

Here they are out of the box. I think they look nice. 

Swerve as a whole looks very cool, head to body and limb ratio is nicely done. Love the detailing too. His paint job is well done too, not bad!

Like the smirk on his face, haha. Looks kinda cool.

His shoulder is on a ball joint. He can rotate 360 degrees but abduction and adduction is limited.

Abduction is about 0-60 degrees.

Elbow joint.

Minimal head movements for Swerve. He can't look side to side, but he can move his head up and down with some limitations.

He has no hip articulations, but he can perform a perfect split.

Although he is small, but his articulation and stability is way better than I've expected.

Knee flexion and hip extension allows him to do a lot of poses.

Here he is in his alternate mode. He is basically a pick up truck, and I think he looks good in alternate mode too.

Top view. As you can see, there is a place for Flanker to peg in.

And here is Flanker in his alternate mode. Its a simple design, not too bad.

Here is Flanker in robot mode. Transformation is very simple and he has very simple articulation.

His only articulation are his shoulders, which rotate 360 degrees. He has no other rotations.

Flanker transforms into a weapon for Swerve, and I guess this makes him a triple changer :) and he can be fitted above Swerve's truck mode.

I think they look cool together.

Swerve can hold Flanker in either one of his hand.

"You're comming down, Decepticon!"

As a summary, he is a much better figure than I've expected for his price. Simple yet fun to play with. Decent articulation, good paint job, decent plastic quality. He has simple and straight foward transformation. I really wish he at least have some waist and head articulation which will make him a much posable figure. Well, for his price, I can't ask for too much. Probably a better birthday present for your kids as a starter transformers toys than MP's or other 3rd party lol.
