Hello and good day. Today I will be reviewing another transformers from Fansproject, Function X-2 aka Quadruple-U (Not Weirdwolf ). After getting my function X-3, I'm really impressed with what Fansproject has done with the headmaster transformers and I got Function X-2 ( not weirdwolf). Again, I think that Fansproject has done a great job with Weirdwolf too, and I'm quite happy with my purchase. Got this 3rd party transformers from an online shop http://www.x2otoys.com/
Weirdwolf is one of the 1st headmasters for the Decepticon group along with Skullcruncher and Mindwipe. He transforms into a wolf as his name suggests. Function X-2 comes in a box similiar with Function X-3 but greenish in colour. He has the similiar transparent cover and yes, looks a bit pale in box design. He comes in robot mode and is equipped with a sword as his weapon. He does not have any range weapons, which is ok since he uses his sword most of the time in the Transformers series anyway. His instruction manual is pretty much the same as Function X-3 and no bio card.

His sword is transformed from his tail in alternate mode and I'm delighted that Fansproject take that into account.

Once you open up the box, you can see that he is in his robot mode. His weapon and instruction manual is behind him.

His sword looks kinda cool, has a jagged design but its still awesome anyway.
The sword can be open up at the very end which allows it to hang onto him either on his shoulders or his thigh in robot mode which you will see later.
Here is X-2 out of the box. At first glance, the thing that catches my eyes are his hands, which looks a bit weird, as it is transformed from his front paws. But for me, in today's technology, they can easily hide the paws and design it so that his actual fist can rotate out, perhaps something like MP-10's design? Don't get me wrong, as a whole, I'm still happy with the design. Just a little nitpicks. His tall shoulders are pretty mush similar to G1 design and the colour scheme is very similiar too. The paint job is again top notch by Fansproject, no blemishes and I have no complains about the paint job.
Does not really have any bulky parts over hanging around aside from the wolf head. Not a big problem.

As I mention earlier, you can rotate 2 black pieces on both his shoulders to fit his sword.
Here are the ones at his thighs.
His sword fits into a groove on his palm and his thumb basically just rotates around to cover his hand. He does not have any articulations on his fingers.
He can carry his sword around on either one of his shoulders, which I think its cool.
Putting his sword by his thigh like this gives him a sort of "samurai" feel, and I prefer he carries his weapon around this way.

His head sculpture as a whole looks very cool and I really dig the visors.
The attention to detail is quite amazing for this figure, and I have no complains about his head. Good job by Fansproject! ( It would be even cooler to ass light-piping for his visors and he would looks absolutely wicked! Just my humble suggestion lol )
For articulation, both his arms are on a boll joint and you can happily rotate them around.
His thumbs just rotate around to complete his hands.
You can rotate his at the biceps and also his wrist.
You can see the groove to hold his sword clearly in this picture.
He has 360 degree hip rotation.
He can extend his hips fairly well. Both his legs are also on a balljoint, but he is unable to perform a perfect split due to his design though.
Knee flexion.
He can internally rotates his thighs which allows him to be quite posable.
Ankle is on a ball-joint but has limited range of movements due to his designs.
He is quite posable as I mention earlier and though his feet is not as broad as I would like them to be, but he is surprisingly a very stable figure.
He should be very good in yoga back in Cybertron, lol.

His headmaster partner is basically in grey and black in colour, and articulation is limited, similar to Function X-3.

Back view. Good that as he stands up, his visors comes even lower to cover his face.
And here he is in alternate mode!
Even though he transforms into a wolf, they also took the effort to make it as similiar as G1 as possible and his headmaster friend can actually fit nicely into his alternate mode.

His transformation into wolf mode is very interesting as well, and similiar to function X-3, both of them have very interesting and creative transformation which I must give credit to Fansproject. Job well done! As a whole, he looks good in wolf mode, but due to his design, his back is always higher than his front part. Again, not a big issue, just a little nitpick, as I have some trouble to pose him.
Front view. Well, his wolf head looks a little slim to me, but still not a big issue.
In top view, you can see that his back is a little slim, but it looks this way due to his creative transformation.
In wolf mode, he does have limited posability.
You can pose him with his jaws open or closed.
Has some up and down rotations over the wolf head which is a nice touch, but he is unable to rotate side to side, which is kinda sad.
As a whole, he still has a good looking alternate mode and I know its hard to be perfect in both modes especially when the alternate mode is a creature. Usually alternate mode in vehicle looks better.
His sword fits into his back side and snaps into it. no rotation for his 'tail' though.
A little warning though. When you want to transform him from mini cybertronian in to headmaster mode, you will notice you have difficulty putting the visors down. At first I thought that it will come down once I apply more force but I'm really worry that it will break. But luckily I found out that you need to pull the visor up slightly and it it will slide into place nicely.

You can perform the head switch like they did it in the cartoon, which is the cool feature for headmasters.
Weirdwolf is now complete with his Decepticon symbol!
Group photo for some size comparison. They don't scale well with MP series, which I mention before in my Function X-3 review, but its ok. They still look cool together.

Pros: He is a HEADMASTER!, fun transformation, good paint job, above average plastic quality.
Cons: He is a bit small compare to MP series. No finger articulation. Limited head articulation. No light-piping
As a summary: Highly recommended for headmasters fans. If you own function X-1 or X-3, then you have to buy him, lol.
