Unique toys: Mania King.

Hello and thanks again for reading, today I'll be doing a review on a 3rd party figure from Unique Toys: Kings Mania ( Not Galvatron ). Reason I bought this figure is that when I saw his pictures during PO, he is the best Galvatron figure I've seen so far, none even come close to this Galvatron. There are several figures through the years as I've found out, the G1 version, the re-decoed version for G1, the Universe version, the Alternity series, but again King Mania is the best Galvatron figure so far in my opinion.

He comes in a very cool box, its very hard and sturdy, even better than masterpiece boxes, which makes it heavier too and could cost more for shipping due to his weight. Comes with an instruction booklet and a collector's card.

Collector's card, love the background! Like in the movie when he was just resurrected by Unicron.

His stats. Wonder how can he has such high speed rating as he transforms into a canon? maybe flaying in robot mode perhaps ;)

Instruction manual

Here is Galvatron after you open the box, well protected by the Styrofoam.
At first glance, he looks pretty awesome right out of the box. Body ratio, G1 accuracy is very very good. The part I love the most about him is the chest and abdomen part which is G1 accurate, with the indentation to the mid abdominal region which is red in colour.

Here in a nice poster you can observe his chest and abdomen region, very nicely done by Unique Toys.

Head sculpture is there but not quite. His horns/antenna goes all the way and is pointed at the end, unlike the G1 cartoon. His head can turn side to side, look foward but unable to look up, which is kinda sad.
But we can see there is a chest area which is coloured silver and left blank for one and one reason only...... we all know what it is for ;-)
I see what you did there Unique Toys...

His shoulder is basically on a ratchet joint, probably the designer choose this joint because of the weight of his shoulder canon?
Shoulder goes all the way from 0 degree to about 90 degree

He has an elbow joint

Biceps joint for rotation

All his fist is as a whole, no individual finger or thumb articulation. No wrist articulation
Well he does not really need to have it anyway since his primary weapon is his canon

Both forearm has the opening for his canon, and it can be fitted on either hands.

The lower part of his body looks good as well. He does have some ankle joint movements for posing.
Also comes with waist articulation, he can turn his waist a whole 360 degrees.

This is as far as his hip joints go, nealy 90 degrees, and you have to lift his crotch piece to allow this articulation.

Knee joint articulation.

Van Damme articulation :)

Some size comparison for King Mania/ Galvatron with Uranos

Here he is with Sideswipe and Frenzy. Slightly taller than MP-12.

And..... here he is in canon mode!
Well as a whole his canon mode looks fairly ok, some parts looks a bit bulky and some part is a bit loose and appears hollow, but still it is as close as G1 as you can get.
This guy is the hardest to transform among all my transformers figures!
Took me quite a while. But I'm sure those who have MP-Magatron will disagree.                                         ( lucky I don't have him :p )

He is very stable in his alternate mode with 3 stands, 2 at the sides and 1 at the back.

Get em mighty Galvatron!!!

I Galvatron will crush you just as Megatron crush prime!

The canon is not all orange as G1 but I guess as 3rd party, you can't be 100% same as the original, still I'll take the design, looks cool though.

Trying to replicate the pose in the box, but his head just can't look up..... such a pity

Here are some Galvatron toys of old.

I had his alternity series version not because he is Galvatron but because he is a Nissan Fairlady  :)

As a summary:

G1 accuracy: 8.5/10

Articulation and posability: 8/10

Plastic quality: 7/10

Box quality: 9.5/10

Helpful instruction manual: 8/10

Collector's card: 7/10

Paint quality: 9/10

Price:  about RM 250-270 ( 76- 82 USD ) value for money? 7/10 If you got the extra cash, why not. If you are choosing between a car MP or this guy, mayb would advice to go for MP cars such as MP-12,14,17,18,19

Size: about voyager size

Pros: Best Galvatron figure to date, attention to detail for robot mode, good articulation, good paint job, high box quality, fairly stable in robot mode.
Cons: Limited head articulation, no wrist articulation, alternate mode not really impressive, no light-piping, no die-cast, not leader class ( people will want to pose him beside MP-Rodimus )

Thank you again for reading :)

MP-19

Hello ladies and gentleman, finally I got the last and final Nissan brothers! non other than MP-19, Smokescreen!!! Well at first, I did not think of getting him, because I don't really dig his character in G1 and he does not really get a lot of screen time and not one of the most popular character there is, but since I got MP-17 and MP-18, I was thinking ah... what the heck, lets get the last Nissan brother...... But boy am I glad that I got him. His color scheme is the best among the 3 Nissan mold I would say and there is actually slight difference in transformation compare to MP-17 and MP-18, which made me very happy :)

OK, now we go straight to our next MP review... Smokescreen! As we all know he is a Nissan Fairlady 280Z-T and he is a Cybertronian diversionary tactition, as his name apply- smokescreen. He literally releases smoke as cover for the autobots to escape in a few battles, and I assume he has same many autobot lives. He was said to be one of the bodies beside dead wheeljack in Transformers The movie 1986 and when I look at it again, I did notice a body on the ground in blue and red before the scene where Arcee pulls Windcharge's body, but I cant really be sure.

He comes in a black box similar to his brothers. And his accessory includes 2 jamming launchers, disrupter rifle and his MP coin.

Box is similiar to the other autobot cars

As you open the box, he will be in his alternate mode, with his guns and shoulder weapons.

Comes together with a collector's card, its a good addition to the ones I've had.

His stats is slightly better than Bluestreak, his lowest will be his strength, which is 4.

His shoulder weapons are actually jamming launchers.

And..... his rifle is a disrupter rifle. Basically all his weapons are used to confuse and jamming his enemies, making them fight less efficiently, but not fatally wound them.

Below is his instruction manuals

As I take a closer look at Smokescreen and I have to say that he has the best paint job among the 3 Nissans. His colour schemes are basically much better quality than Prowl and Bluestreak. And when you compare his bright red to Sideswipe, you can really see the difference. His paint job quality is top notch and I can't really find anything to complain as he has no paint blemishes. I am very satisfied with it.

Side view looks good as well and really love the racing car paint job.

His weapon can be mounted on top of his hood, similiar to the other MP cars by lifting up a small panel below his hood.

And the cool thing is that you can actually mount all his weapons in his alternate mode. Looks like he has the most fire power among the 3 Nissans, haha.

Transformation wise, he is very similar to MP-17 and 18, and the only difference is his shoulder. MP-17 and 18's tyres are facing backwards but for smokescreen, his shoulder tyres face upwards. In the G1 series, his tyres did face upwards and this is as cartoon accurate as you can get.

He does not have shoulder canons like Prowl and streak, instead, he has to small pegs that holds his jamming launchers.

From the back, he looks similiar as the other Nissan brothers

His face is G1 accurate, but he was not one my favorite characters because I didn't really like the way his face looks. Bus he is cartoon accurate non the less.

Here he is with warpath and powerglide.

His rifle fits nicely into his hands similiar as Prowl and Streak.

From this angle we can clearly see his shoulder tyres are facing upwards. But because of this slight difference, you can actually pose him more easily for a straight forward pointing motion, as he does not have a shoulder plate like Prowl and Streak.

The Nissan brothers! and Lambor!

Looks very good together and scale is perfect!

We are.... the Nissan brothers!!!!

20 years later.....  :) I'm loving it.

Thank You again for reading, and have a great day!
